Project Summary

 

The Goals

 

 

  • Raise awareness of conservation issues through film and video;

  • Bring conservation film-makers together with educators, government, scientists, broadcasters, artists, business, non-profits and concerned citizens;

  • Build on Shepherdstown's reputation as a center for the arts.

 

The 2003 Program

 

  • A three day film festival;

  • Over 50 films screened at three venues;

  • Categories in 2003 will be
    1. Independent Films (submissions accepted)
    2. Publically Funded Films (submissions accepted)
    3. Appalachian Films (submissions accepted)
    4. Historical Film ;

  • Three workshops for environmental media professionals;

  • Inclusion of a wide diversity of constituencies in the festival;

  • Best practice highlighted through prizes.
