Award for American Conservation Film Festival

Program and Brochure Design

Shepherdstown WV – Shepherd University Assistant Professor Kristin Kaineg received a Gold ADDY Award on Saturday, March 7 for her work designing the festival program and brochures for Shepherdstown’s American Conservation Film Festival. A gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence, judged to be superior to all other entries in the category. The ADDY’s are presented annually by the Greater Frederick Advertising Agency (GFAF) which is one of the 210 local chapters of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the national organization that acts as the “Unifying Voice for Advertising.” With this recognition, Professor Kaineg’s work will move on to compete at the district level, and if successful, on to national competition.  For the past two years Professor Kaineg has designed the program that all visitors to the annual American Conservation Film Festival (ACFF) receive, with the festival schedule, film descriptions, and other activities presented in a user-friendly and eye-catching format.  She also worked closely with the ACFF Board of Directors to create its new logo, unveiled in 2008.  ACFF brochures provide information about ACFF, its Traveling Festival, and how to donate to ACFF.  Working with ACFF has been great,” states Professor Kaineg.  “It has been fun developing their visual voice. Receiving recognition for this work has been invigorating and inspiring experience. I can't wait to design next year's program!" “We’ve loved the work that Kristin has done for us in the past few years” agreed ACFF President Amy Mathews Amos.  “The beauty of her work has enhanced the festival experience for everyone and she provides a small non-profit organization like ACFF with the professional skills of an award-winning designer.  We’re all looking forward to her 2009 creations for the festival.”
